Daily Sketch - Profile Study

Drawing human faces has been a particularly weak point of mine and this is hopefully one step in improving that. At least it's better than the duck.
Man... need to work on those shadows and colors.

all i know is that when the light shines from above.. or maybe in general, for caucasians.... the are around the eyes and ears are slightly red, the cheeks and nose are the reddest, gets a bit more yellow ochre/yellowy/orangey/peachy around the other bits... and people usually use like a tiny light yellow light on the nose or whatever that is the brightest area in the face.

or at least thats what i observed from oil paintings. -_-;;;
but there are other solutions.

um, the only real advice? keep on drawing people from life... it's awkward at first, but you will get better till you can draw em out of your bloody memory.
and if you can, try painting em, with watercolors, from life too (or look at those imaginefx tutorials!)
